Playa del Inglés Beach

Playa del Inglés (Beach)

The actual beach at Playa del Inglés is in the middle of one long stretch of golden sand beginning in San Agustín in the east, ending 8km away at Maspalomas to the west. Being a major part of one of the busiest and most popular tourist resorts in the whole of Europe, it can perhaps lay claim to also being its most famous beach.

With the resort being so very popular with the typical 18-30 crowd, the beach can often have a great number of people within this age group. There's plenty of space for everyone however, with families, young couples and locals also making up a large number of the people enjoying the hot sands and cool ocean waves. Some areas of the beach are very popular with naturists and gays so don't be surprised if you see plenty of skin on show as you explore along the beach or within the Dunes of Maspalomas.

The facilities on the beach consist of snack kiosks every few hundred yards, sun loungers with parasols, and recycling bins so there's no excuse for anyone spoiling the gorgeous beach by leaving their rubbish behind. With the beach being adjacent to the busy resort there's plenty of facilities close to hand with plentiful restaurants, bars, shops, public washrooms with showers, water points, and pretty much anything else that any beach dweller could hope for.

For people who prefer to have an active fun-and-sun beach holiday there's plenty of leisure and sports activities available such as jet-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, and even sky-diving. For families, young holidaymakers, or anyone looking for a bit more relaxed fun, there's always the banana-boat or pedalos available for hire.

Running adjacent to the beach is the pedestrian promenade, the Paseo Costa Canaria, which runs all the way from Playa de San Agustín to the sand Dunes of Maspalomas. A great deal of the promenade is full of all kinds of restaurants, snack bars, fast food vendors, amusement arcades, pubs, shops, and many other types of stores and businesses. In some areas however, it has lush tropical flora and luxurious villas, making for a very pleasant stroll for anyone looking to admire the beach and sand dunes from afar.
