Fataga is located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana near the south of the island. Is a protected landscape with lush oasis' of palm trees on its banks, hillside dwellings in a ravine habitat of brush, bushes and rock roses.
In addition to its restaurants, tourist shops, a museum and a traditional water mill, the local people preserves primitive style houses in narrow paved streets.
Fataga was badly damaged by fire in the summer of 2007. Today, fire damage is still visible in one of the most beautiful villages of Gran Canaria.
